Slideout Control Module???

Hi; I'm brand new to this forum and could really use some help.
I have a 2002 Fleetwood Terry. The main slideout retracts but will not extend. I have contacted Power Gear for troubleshooting info and they need the part number on the slideout control module. I have crawled all over and under this unit and cannot find such a module. Does anyone have an idea where I can find it.
Thanks a million,

  • My 97 5th with a powerglide slide had the same type of problem. With a little investigation we found that on the control board a soldered connection on the back side of the board had burnt. Just a little dab of solder and no more problems.
  • I had the same issue on our wilderness by fleetwood. There is no module. The switch is a direct run to the motor. We replaced the switch 2 times. After the second time I did some more checking and found they were running the full current thru the switch (hence melting the switch). I added relays in line, with the battery line feeding the relays. This way the switch only is to turn the relay on. Since adding the relays we have had no issues. I suspect all fleetwoods are the same as I know a friend who had a 2004 with the same issue.
  • Not Powergear, but the module for my Accu-Slide is on the basement ceiling. Driver's side, above the battery bin.
  • My last trailer was a Fleetwood wilderness and the dealer thought it would be under the cabinets but we found it under the shower panel behind the hot water heater. It acted the same as yours, if you need to get it in you can reverse the two wires on motor and the it will then come in but won't go back out until you change module. Module looks like small circuit board. My friends Montana was installed in front compartment with the one for the landing gear. They install them anywhere there is space for them.
  • Thanks for the comebacks; the slideout is not hydraulic; it is rack and pinion driven by a gear motor. Have checked the switch but guess I should re-check. Have not thought about looking on the outside wall for the control module... will do.
  • If it works one way and not the other then the first thing I would suspect is the switch itself.
  • Not a Fleetwood, but for what it's worth the slide out control modules on ours are all side-by-side on the outside wall way back under the bathroom vanity!
  • if it is hydrolichave you checked the fluid?
Do you here the pump run when pressing the switch out?
