Slideout controller

I have a Coachmen 2002 5th wheel 340IKS. The controller (DN13819) is obsolete and there is no replacement for it. What I was wondering is could I use a reversible solenoid like one that works a winch ( something like a reversing solenoid contact relay 6 terminal)? I tried a different controller and it only worked for 2 trips before it went out. I am desperate and need help. Thank you in advance.
