You are right. Years ago the Revolution was an option on the Rockwood.
IT is now a standard item, therefore a slider hitch is absolutely not needed. In this case, the dealer appears knowledgable about the product.
IF a manual slider hitch is used with the Revolution, then the increased leverage could damage the slider mechanism, the hitch mounting bolts or the Revolution wedge. I'm not sure what would happen with an auto slider, maybe double jointed, maybe more expensive damage.
The only time it would be safe to use a slider hitch with the Revolution is if the lockout bolts were installed to prevent the Revolution from pivoting.
