Fifth Wheel Hitch Height - Sliders

I'm running a Ram 3500 SRW 4X4 short bed with a Curt 20K manual slider. I also recently installed a Lippert (long) Flex Air Pin Box. I'm running into two issues. First which is the obvious, the coach is on a decent slope to the rear when hitched up. The second relates to the max height of the front hydraulic jacks....I am basically taking them to their height limit and sometimes need to block them up in order to raise up enough to disconnect the coach from the hitch...

The Curt slider is pretty tall (adjusted as low as it can go), roughly 20-21" above the truck bed. I've been looking at two other alternatives which will work with the Ram factory puck system. One unit is the Pullrite Superglide #2315. The other the B&W RVK3670. The first is an automatic slider, the second is manual. Both claim a seat height of 17" which would give me 3-4" additional adjustment.

Wondering if anyone out here has had experience with either?? If so I would appreciate a real world measurement, truck bed to seat as well as any comments pro or con.

Thanks!!

Joel

Bed clearance should be no less than 6". You will LOVE the B&W.
I don't think I can get to that number with a slider. The Curt gives me maybe an inch. The B&W 3.5" and the Pullrite about the same 3.5". A static Curt would get me there but then I have the maneuvering problem...

Cummins12V98 is talking about the clearance distance from the rv to the top of you bed sides when hitched.

Is the pin box in the top set of holes on the trailer? I have the dealer raising it to the top holes, we have about 2" to pick up there... If I can pick up another 2-3" by swapping the hitch, I think I will be good.

If you need to change I would always go with an auto slide over a manual slide. Pullrite is a quality hitch that you would not regret buying.
From what I have read I agree. The unit for the Ram puck system is rated at 24K!

    What's your bedrail clearance?
bed height is 20.5" per spec and my measurement.
  • You may already be aware but the Pullright Superglide does no have any height adjustment. Any adjustment must be done with the trailer pin box.
  • Is the pin box in the top set of holes on the trailer?
