Slides and rain????

If this is going to be a regular occurrence you might want to consider slide toppers. They keep most of the rain off the tops of the slides, any on the side-walls will be minimal.
Some folks don't like toppers (they can flap in strong winds) so weigh the pros and cons.
Personally I like 'em. YMMV.
