"Slides In" Use
Our Vengeance has the east/west bedroom slideout. Of course, the slideout is basically the bed. When stored under my barn, there is maybe a foot of room between the camper and the wall of the barn....

Bedroom slides are typically fully supported whether they are IN or OUT. They are a box frame mounted to metal frame that moves.
So yes bed can be used at anytime
Living room slides can be used if they are above floor and move flat
If the slides 'tilt' going in/out and drop into opening making them flush with floor then NO slides can not be used when IN as they are not supported when retracted.
