Snow Storm

This isn't exactly about fifth wheels but im familiar with some of your names now and you might be with mine as well so I thought you guys would like to see this picture. I live in the Black Hills of South Dakota and we got nailed by a storm. Over 30 inches and really windy. In this picture you can see that the drift on the right in front of my house is almost to the roof and that vehicle in the back of the driveway is my buddies truck (you can barely see the roof. And in front of that truck is my car that is buried with a 15 foot snow drift. You cant even see the car!! We are fortunate enough to still have power as most people don't in the area.

    I know the area really got whacked........

    But your picture is really tough to make out anything but 'WHITE' :B

    I grew up in Casper, left in early 70's and contemplated moving back in 80's (arrived in FEB)......cured me!
    Only visit area in Summer

    Stay safe, warm and dig out after it calms down

    Oh wow, I feel for you! WAYYYY too early for that! Looks like it will warm up into the 50's for you this week, hopefully put a large dent in that mess.

    Lots of friends and family in Custer - a number of them out working nearly nonstop since the storm started, trying to restore power to many in the Rapid City area.

    I hope you have cable tv, it would be hard to keep the sat dish clear. Cabin fever usually doesn't set for a couple of days.

    We do have a sat dish but we can climb up that drift and clean it off on the roof lol

    I was born at Ellsworth AFB, and that looks like some of the photos my parents have from when I was very young! Be safe!!!

    That's an impressive snow storm for anytime of the year!

    I have to admit that I couldn't figure out anything in the first pic so I'm really glad you posted the 2nd one. I hope you have a snow blower.

    Your second photo reminds me of when I was a teenager.........had to get up before crack of dawn and shovel driveway so MOM could get car out.
    Then repeat again the next morning (some times that evening)

    I DON'T miss it one bit :B

    1st photo now makes sense.......now that I know what I was suppose to see>>>>>>I can see it :B:B

    Been following the storm on radar and the SD Road Report maps.

    Now the road report maps make a lot more sense. Knew you were getting snow in the west part, but no idea that much. Gosh, I was expecting no more than some good flurries, and you've had a full scale flat out blizzard.

    Grrrr. An ominous beginning to winter's arrival.

    Oh well! Here's to hoping for a good, long Indian Summer! :B
