:) no bites yet. I am thinking of changing entire approach. After seeing how bad the pictures and descriptions are for the rigs being sold by the dealers I am going to reshoot rig pics with the lights off and then type something along the lines of "Super glorious big fifth for sale. Too much to list. Come now"

I agree totally with this. We sold our previous TT in 5 days on CL. We had already purchased our 5er but hadn't picked it up yet. The TT was spotless and priced to sell.(In November) Buyer made the comment that the TT showed it had been taken care of. They had looked at a lot of TT's that looked like the owners never washed, waxed or cleaned the inside of them. Ours showed it had been taken care of. His words.
I know circumstances sometimes dictate what we can and cannot do. Good luck. John

Thanks for the feedback. We agree with your thoughts and spoke to a dealer today about trade ins and such. The kind of echoed your comments saying if they do a trade in offer they kind of want the rig right away.

We found a rig we like private party and will be checking it out. We have the cash to make the purchase outright and storage sites are not that expensive so moving into another rig and then selling this one is an option. Thanks for the feedback.

What is that all about? Will people buy anything WAY beyond their means simply because they can get financing? Maybe I should jack up the price and offer financing :).

its the botom lne montthly payment.most new rvs can be 15 yr loans if you want it.Cant blame them.It is what it is.everyone buying an rv should know the difficulties in selling outright.takes time and alot of lookers.alot of people with kids dont have enough coin to drop all at once on a camper.

When you're settled into a location for a while, see if you can rent a storage bay or utility trailer for a short while. Move everything you don't absolutely have to have into it. You want to show how much room you have available, how spacious it is. Other thing is to make sure it's immaculate. (Hard to do while your living in it) Most of the used units for sale are filthy.

We have had decent luck on craigslist. However, there is a lot of junk that goes on from both sellers and buyers. Just be diligent and eventually the right person will come across your ad.

My ad for the TT we sold included a list of the upgrades and known issues (it was a 95). My description was very detailed about condition etc... The first person who looked at it bought it.

So something you may want to do is have an independent person look at your ad with no skin in the game (trusted relative or friend) and give you an honest report of your ad vs the trailer and see what they say. Is something in the ad giving a false impression? Maybe, maybe not. Also, I have had success with posting my "bottom dollar, non negotiable price".... Funny how many people out there like that... Many folks hate "dealing" and will pay a fixed price if it's fair.

BTW, my dad has an 01 challenger, they are very nice rigs!

Okay it is official selling anything via Craigslist is a PIA. Just had someone stop by, go thru the entire rig (remember this is our home we are full timers), and then say it is not quite as nice as the other rig they have a deposit on. I ask what the other rig is? A 2013 Jayco Pinnacle :S
