Spare Tire mtg on Cedar Creek 5th wheel
Looked at my spare tire mount and it sure doesn't look very strong to me. It's under the rear of the camper but the cable extend and retract mechanism looks like it uses two (2) 3/8 sheet metal screws...

Mine was on a flimsy bracket on the rear bumper and I never trusted that! I ordered the new BAL sliding under belly mount and it is a real nice piece. Mounts easy and it slides the spare out so you don't have to lay in the dirt to get it out from under the camper. Here the link, called BAL Hide-a-spare
