Spare Tire mtg on Cedar Creek 5th wheel
Looked at my spare tire mount and it sure doesn't look very strong to me. It's under the rear of the camper but the cable extend and retract mechanism looks like it uses two (2) 3/8 sheet metal screws...

I ran a cable from the frame, around the rim also. When the tire comes down do not unwind the cable any more that you have to, the cable will start to bind up. You will then have a hard time getting it to go back up again.
