I have a SRW Ram 2500 Megacab. I love the extra cab room but I gave up quite a bit of rear wheel capacity.
The issue is with trailer pin weight, not length. The "3/4 ton" truck just doesn't have enough rear wheel payload capacity for most of the longer trailers due to the extra pin weight they have.
I really wish I would have got a DRW 3500 just for a little more rear wheel capacity. Not so much for a bigger trailer but for an extra diesel fuel tank in the truck bed. 30 to 40 gallons of extra fuel would sure help. Right now I need to stop between 300 and 400 miles for fuel with the 36 gallon stock tank. I'd like to have enough for 8 hours on the road without fueling. Not that I wouldn't still stop. I just wouldn't have to find a gas station that would fit my rig.
