I have a 2013 GMC 2500HD CC pulling a 37 ft. Jayco Eagle. With full fresh water and propane plus food and gear for a week the trailer weighed 11400 lbs. with 2000 lbs. on the pin. The total rear axle weight on the truck was 5300 lbs.- well under the rating. The truck handles the trailer effortlessly up and down grades as much as 7% and down 2 lane mountain roads with great control. I can't really say how it handles in high wind conditions but sway has never been an issue to this point. I would have gotten the 3500 when I bought this truck but there wasn't one available where I bought it and I wasn't considering buying an RV at the time. The only weight issue I have is that I cross the GVWR of the truck as soon as my wife climbs in. Yes, I know the obviouse solution to the problem but who would cook dinner when we got to camp? If it's to late to change then live with it and have fun. Add bags or helper springs if you think you need them. My truck sits level and I don't feel the need. I would not consider a heavier rig with this truck. And don't get the 20" wheels, very limited choice of tires and the weight rating is far below what you'd get on the 3500. They are gorgeous rims, tho'!
