Simple math!
If the GVWR of the 2WD and 4WD trucks is the same and the 4WD weighs 300# more than the 2WD, then the payload of the 4WD
HAS to be 300# less.
One of the reasons my truck is 2WD.
The 4WD would have been 400# heavier with a 2300# payload instead of 2700#. As I don't drive in snow or off road I didn't need the 4WD.
