The salem hemisphere bunkhouse 356QBQ and the Primetime Crusader 360BHS both have pin weights of 1700#
Those are DRY weights.
You'd better figure on them being 2300# or better once loaded up.
With a hitch, family, full fuel and "stuff" in the truck you are going to overload a 3/4 ton, even if it does have a 3000# Payload rating.
Again - get the SRW 1-ton and have a little margin to play with.
Don't waste your time here the op knows it will be fine!
Just wait until he is heading down a grade and the wind hits that big box.
Come on Ron, you and I both know GVWR doesn't mean squat!! I live by GRAWR, we have an 11,000# 5er and a 2500 Ram with camper package, didn't change the GVWR 1# but we tow at a 10,000# GVW on a rating of 8,800#!
Still have 630# of spare GRAWR with stock tires and 1,376# if I chose to take in to account the larger tires.
I run stock suspension, just Bilstien's shocks and have NO issues running secondary roads at the speed limit or better.
You don't need a one ton to carry a 30' plus 5th wheel!!!'
Many 250/2500's at derated for tax and licenses pourposes!
Not talking "carry" !
There is a point when there is so much surface area behind you and the wind hits it there will be a problem. Also he will weigh much more than he thinks after he is filly loaded.
Don't forget you have a RAM! They can perform miracles.;)
