Yup, that's why, without exception, every Manufacturer states you should never exceed GVWR.
Why, because that's the weight at which they certify the truck will meet all Federal Safety and (where applicable) Emission standards.
Exceed GVWR and you let them off the hook for ANY liability and they can void your warranty.
(Yup, happens. Saw several of those cross my desk years back)
And we won't get into a personal liability (driver) discussion - been there done that too!
