Stored groceries while traveling

Hi all. I don't figure I need to announce being a newbie because everyone will key in on this stupid question.
We are a horse before the cart couple, hoping to get a fiver soon. My question is this. Do you stock your fridge and groceries based on your actual parked time? I'm picturing things shifting and sloshing as your scooting down the open road.

  • We pack ours full considering what and where we are camping. If it's for a weekend and camping with friends which we do a lot. I make a few things ahead of time, just so it's easy. We are getting ready to take a three week trip. I will be stocking the freezer and frig. before we go to get us where we are staying for a week. So for the first 5 nights will be easy meals because of one night stops. Then we will be eating out (seafood) for the next week. I find it's easier for me to have some stuff and ideas of what to fix. I use plastic containers or baggies. I use the commissary so I feel I save a little then having to shop in a campground store or little town market. Freezer crock-pot meals are great also.
Just beware when you first open the refrigerator after traveling. So you can catch anything that may be against the door. I just made meatloaf and sliced it and froze it for trip. Hope this helps.
