If your rig has disk brakes pump away while having someone spin the tire for you. Drums, take your chances!!!
I think that is a fair statement, too many times I have read about grease on drum brakes, spinning the tire or not. IMO nothing replaces packing wheel bearings by hand .
Buying a new rig, often times there is very little grease on the bearings, and I would not be afraid to add a quality bearing grease using the EZ system. Buying a used rig, I'd want to do an inspection of brake parts and bearings, then a good hand pack. Now after doing that, and knowing all is well, next time I'd use the same grease from hand pack, pump it through the EZ zerks, call it good. IMO, a good bearing pack is good for several years, maybe 3-5 yrs, depending on use.
