I used a Smart Trailer pulled behind our 34' Big Sky, for a few years. It worked very well and we had no issues with it.
Be advised that some states do not allow double towing. FWIW we traveled through, and stayed in, some of them and had no problems. YMMV.
I would definitely advise getting and using a rear view camera to keep an eye on things back there. Also a person needs to be aware of the increased rear end length and how it affects the rear swing of the 5th wheel. We carried about 1200 lbs. on our trailer and it had no real effect on how the 5th wheel handled. It pulled fine and never mis-behaved.
