Terrible start to vacation

Whenever I hear about a drawer launching itself from the cabinet I think about this.

We were doing the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race and we were in the Bass Strait in 60 knots of wind, in really huge seas. The silverware drawer left the cabinet on a big wave and crashed, which sounded much like breaking glass in the dark. We awoke to chaos and escaped from our pipe berth bunks grasping for life vests and heading above deck trying to clip in our safety harness tethers before we are exposed to conditions above. In the morning there were scratches in the headliner above from the silverware below!

When I hear that sound now, I can levitate above my bunk, which my wife doesn't seem to enjoy.

It's on my checklist before we roll ...
bang all cupboard doors and drawers and fridge door with my hand to ensure they're shut. Sometimes they look closed, but they're securely in place.

Bang, bang, bang ...

We had a freezer door that wasn't latched. A tub of ice cream rolled out and ended up behind the sofa. When we parked, the freezer door was fully latched so we never knew there was any problem....until the odor got bad enough for us to start looking at the cause.

That isn't a terrible start to a vacation by any means. A terrible start is when something happens that prevent the vacation from continuing. Just count it as the bad stuff getting out of the way first so you can really enjoy the rest of the trip.

We get a lot of complains about Jensen on here. Dump it and get a decent TV.

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that. Things can only get better from here though, right?!
