Annual inspection? For what?

In the People's Republic of Oregon we get hosed on all kinds of things, including up to 11% income tax! but the registration fees are small, we have NO sales tax, no annual "inspections", no personal property tax, and no other annual fees. I can't imagine paying the state $400 or $600 year after year for a truck or trailer I already own... Personal property tax is an odd concept. Of course, since Clinton outlawed logging, we can't afford things like cops, roads and schools for our kids either. We can barely afford all our socialist welfare programs...

Looking at the scale... 19,000 is the jump to the $200 mark and that's what the registration bill has on it. As far as a plate and insurance charge they are separate and the insurance does not go through the state.

PLATE STICKER: 110.00  
CNTY ROAD BRIDGE ADD-ON FEE: 10.00  
CHILD SAFETY FUND: 1.50  
AUTOMATION FEE: 1.00  
MAIL IN FEE: 1.00 
Electronic Processing (NON-REFUNDABLE if Tax Office Declines   Application): 2.00
Subtotal: 125.50
Total Charge Amount: 125.50

Are the tags/plates price including insurance or is your insurance separate? Here in Alberta, Canada (personal) trailer plates are one time charge $109.00 plus you have to buy insurance about $500.00 a year. If you sell the trailer and buy another one you have to buy a new plate for $109.00.

California not the only state bending people over? I think California knows ways most states never dreamed of expect maybe New York.

you can set up a holding co.in Montana, register your TH there for a ONE TIME fee of $189, NO sales tax, NO personal property tax,and its a permanent Reg. NO renewal. Look for his add in the back of the travel trailer magazines. I did and am thousands richer for it!!
