Thoughts on 2004 Nu-Wa Hitchiker II LS

Sold our "11" fifth wheel and bought the shorter "08" HH in my signature. Wanted a quality trailer to double tow. HH is one of the few that will come with a factory hitch. It has BLACK Young frame. Its nice to take off the basement access panels and see the water lines neatly mounted to the floor and walls, wiring not scattered all over the place. HH noticeably has a more solid feel to it. Really nothing wrong with our prior trailers, but even if it has less frills I really like this one

We have an 03' HH2 LS, that we bought in 05. It had the Young's frame, and is a very good unit. I highly recommend the trailer, and NuWa for service after the warranty is gone.

We have the same model only a 2005 that we purchased new. It has been a good unit and the only problem we have had is we had a lot of flex at the pinbox and had to repair that with some extra bracing in the front. I think it was caused by the long style pinbox that was on it and replaced it with a shorter style TrailAir pinbox. We are fulltimers and the unit is overloaded which contributed to the problem. The 5th has been pulled for over 60,000 miles and believe it will last for some time more. We haven't found any units that we like better!

We had the same seam separation on our 2007 32.5 UKTG. There has been a problem with broken welds on the aluminum frame, so this is an issue you should investigate; check the Nuwa forum. HH can repair them perfectly, and I believe others have reported good results at dealers. We got a MH last year upon the insistence of my lovely DW. If it were up to me, I would have kept the HH for a very long time, and repaired the welds if the separation became worse. It was a solid unit for the money, very well built and great floor plans.

We bought a 2007 HH II LS about a year ago and went full time in it last spring. These are well made rigs.

We've had to deal with a few things....

1. We have a small seam separation on the front, driver's side (just forward of the bedroom slide) when hitched. I've tried different caulkings with almost success. I'm getting ready to try eternabond on it - something others say works for them. The seam separation could possibly be evidence of a broken weld, but not likely. Check the unit out to see if there is any evidence of this problem.

2. I'm getting ready to replace the converter/charger with a more advanced one. The original tends to boil batteries.

3. At the top of the stairs going into the bedroom the floor has a bit of give in it. This is not caused by water but by an inferrior design. The floor simply isn't supported well enough by the interior structure. We have a fairly simple fix in mind - reinforcing it with 3/4" plywood screwed in on the basement side. I'd check that if I were you. One person can look into the basement while the other walks around up above.

4. I had a couple of windows leaking and had to remove them and put new caulking (comes in a strip with peel off backing) around them.

Thanks again for the additional info - sounds like it's a great rig to look into. It's up for $12,500 currently and plan on a tour of it this coming week to check it out in person.

We bought a new 2004 HH. In 2009 we went by the plant where the HH's were made "just to look" We still have the 2009 from just "look'n".

Great unit you can't go wrong.............

We have been "fulltime" in our '04 HH DA 33 1/2 CKQG.
Natually a few problems,but we have towed our home well over 60,000 miles.
We bought the unit new,and have no regrets.
Agree with Mr Ed, check out the HH online forum,tons of info available from other HH owners.

My MS has a Lippert frame also, it's how they are specced from the RV maker is what's important.
