Tire makers say never let air out of a hot tire. Also altitude at the levels we RV in doesn't change a tires pressure but maybe 1-2 lbs depending on pressure numbers and tire volume.
Our two oldest trailer tire makers along with many trailer tire expert publication say to use max sidewall pressure. Tires on our trailers operate in a much more severe environment than our tires on the tow vehicles.
Now if you have severally overtired the trailers axles like use a G tire at 3750 lb capacity on a 5.2/6k axle with a 2700 lbs per tire load then a lower pressure will be needed.
Stay with the max. Tires run cooler and last longer and protect the warranty if your using a Carlisle ST tire or other brands that may recommend doing so.
