Tire Guru Question

If you're selling later and only want to pass inspection maybe you could look into used tires.

From the threads I read here, many are taking off good ST's they're afraid of to mount LT's. There have to be some good ST take-offs out there to be had at bargain prices.

I've bought used before when I only needed one and knew I'd get another year out of the others (trailers and vehicles). Never had a problem.

Bridgestone Duravis 250s are $250 each. Michelin Ribs $300. Transforce are $200. These prices do not include installation and taxes. Note my location, Canada.

My original question has been answered. Not debating tire selection. Been pulling RVs for 40 years and not one tire issue. I have chosen ST tires and do not need to be convinced otherwise. Understand the benefits of LTs.

As I have already said, selling the trailer next year and I need new rubber for my June safety inspection.

Our new trailer is coming with these OEM. They also come In ST235/80R16G's. All steel ply including sidewall like GY G614.

Very attractively priced as replacements. Chris

235's are fine on a 6" rim. You need at least a 6.5" if you want to got to 245's.

Firestone Transforce HT would be in that price range.

You need approved wheel widths not the measured wheel width for determining the width of the tire.

Goodyear lists 6.0" to 7.5" wheel width as approved for that size.

I have a novel idea--- send an email to the tire mfg and ask them rather than advise from people you don't know.

I did a*****e and they were non-committal. I know there were folks here that probably had first hand experience sine most put LT245/75-16s on which require 6.5" rims
