Calling all tire gurus

Starting search for tires...size on coach is load range H 275 80 22.5

Tried to check out Hankooks but they don't make them in that exact size...

I am checking Michelins of course thru FMCA..but I really like Hankooks...as they are supposed to be a better price and have coach handle better...is there an alternate size that will do as well with Hankooks..Note I wont be caught dead with Bridgestone/Firestone and Good Years ..well trash that too..I feel I can do better...while Michelins are acceptable I'm trying to bite the least cost bullet without being penny wise/dollar foolish. Simple TIre.com works with a truck tire place near my home..which makes my life a lot easier in this..I may do this a bit sooner than I expected as my coach was delivered to me Sept 2008 but code on tires now is 4407...EEEK..Thank you all as I since we may head south...not taking chances...

    I also found out Continental has the tire at 407 plus shipping....from simple tire...the rep was quite knowledgable and educated and they call me with DOT code before shipping....and sale can be contingent on that...any feedback of Continental appreciated...the cracks that happen with Michelin just don't sit well with me...I garage my coach and I keep tire covers on to protect them from sun when out with them.

    I would be looking into a more available size. Look up the diameter of the 275/80- 22.5 and compare it with say a 285/75-22.5.
    Remember if you have an issue on the road you may need to find a replacement.

    I went with Firestones. After pricing the other top tier brands....FS was the only that had my size and a price low enough I didnt have to make the wife work the streets.

    FS truck tires ARE NOT like their pickup and care tires

    Many of the buses in Canada and Europe run Continental tires.

    Since your lives are riding in tires and brakes, I would 'bite the bullet' and go with the Michelins through the FMCA Program.

    Least amount of reports on tire failure due to material defects. Most tire problems are caused by over/under inflation.

    Hankooks have a good reputation. If you can find the right size and can save hundreds of dollars, go with them.

    Really can you say zipper blow out. Sidewall cracks that company says is normal. No thanks no Michelin kool-aid for me.

    you can go either a little smaller 275/75r22.5 tires o a little larger 295/75r22.5 tires. Personally I would go with the 295/75r22.5 tires so you can use less air pressure and the resulting ride will be better.

    Right now it looks like Continental...I visited my local truck shop and since I give him the work/maintenance on the cars and such..he said he was more than happy to help me...he will mount/balance the tires just have simple tire ship them to him...saves me a bunch of time and effort plus I don't have to take the coach through a HEAVY construction zone to get there...I like Michelins..but I know of the cracks...he also thinks Continental is a good tire.
