Greetings all,I have one tire on my Voltage 3200 that needs to be replaced ASAP.... like within four days from now, as I am leaving for CO. I am pretty astute regarding tire maintenance and inflation. I returned from a trip this weekend and was doing tire inspection tonight and happen to notice that my left rear tire has tread separation and some of the cords are showing, (I guess I got lucky here!) These are the original cheapo factory tires which are about 3 years old now. So I am going to replace all four tires, So my question is specific to voltage owners has anyone upgraded to a better tire keeping factory rims and will a LT tire work? or should I stay with the ST 235/80/R16 load range (E) I was thinking of an LT 245/75/16 tire but my concern is on the 3200 do I have enough clearance in the fender wells? I am not sure how much bigger an LT 245/75/16 is compared to ST 235/80/16. I am keeping my rims so new rims is not an option right now. Any suggestions??Thanks in advance,Protector

The LT tire you contemplate has a much lower load carrying capacity than the ST size that came on the trailer.OEM size: ST235/80R16 LRE: 3520 lbs.Proposed replacement size: LT245/75R16 LRE : 3086 lbs. Most tire companies will refuse to replace (on the trailer) tires with a lower load-carrying capacity tire than specified by the trailer maker. You can do what you want, but it may entail taking off the wheels, hauling them to the dealer for a tire change, and reinstalling yourself. Do not expect any warranty coverage in that circumstance.

Thanks for the information. Tire Machine and mounting of tires is not a problem for me. I would prefer to do it my self anyways.

I am not that far from you. My camper is stored in North Ridgeville. Anyways I went through the same confusing tire search as you are now. After reading many many....many threads on this subject I upgraded to a G rated tire. I went with the Sailun S637 in a 235/85R16. At 110PSI it is rated to 3,750lbs each. Do some research on these. If your interested and would like to see a set mounted up so you can do some measuring just let me know.

Did you have to upgrade your rims? Or did you keep the OEM rims?

Your 3200 probably has wheels similar to my Fuzion. Molded on the inside or back of the wheel is a load rating. My factory wheels are rated to 110 psi!

Geostar LT 235/85 R16 is what I replaced my stock tires with after having 2 blow outs in one day.....barely need to put air in theses 14 ply monsters...:)

I would pop for 235/85/16 michelin ribs or the tire I am running, bridgestone duravis R250. Your best bet for an 80 psi tire.

You would be better off getting the G614s and only inflating them to 80 psi. They will still have the same load rating as any of the E tires mentioned and they are a lot tougher tire.

Those are all good choices but the load rating on those tires (3,042 lb.) puts him under his GVW for the trailer. They would probably hold up to the weight but why take the chance? I think the Maxxis are the best choice in a pinch.

Besides, next time around he will have time to research and find the best rim/tire combination. He might even have someone close by that would snatch up his 16" rims real cheap. :B

Thanks for the input guys,I went ahead and ordered a set of maxis M8008 and will be here Wednesday since I am leaving for Colorado Friday my options were limited I did check on a g rated tire but everything would be a special order and would not be here in time and besides my rims are only rated for 80 psi.

I would give the Ribs a good hard look. The Marathons have a long history of giving mediocre service..... or so I have read.

Marathons are definitely not an option for a heavy trailer. You would be better off getting the G614s and only inflating them to 80 psi. They will still have the same load rating as any of the E tires mentioned and they are a lot tougher tire.

Well my rims are rated for 80 PSI. I don't have many options at present time, since we are heading west on Friday. I can get a set Good Year Marathons installed?
