I use all kinds of wood for years from 2X8 various lengths....1" plywood X 10" square....4" X 6" barn posts angle cut for ramps.
Some wood I've carried since the '70s. No splitting or rotted wood. We sometimes camp where the tires on one side may have to be dug down and the other side tires ramped up 6"-8".....or the front or rear of the trailer may be close to the ground/other end in the air to get level.
