Road Hazard , it happens. No damage ,and to the tires credit, it did not come apart, stayed together. How far it ran deflated is anybodies guess. No it was not a blowout. If I would have had a TPMS ,this conversation in most likelihood would not be happening. I do run TPMS now.
Do you have a written determination from Sailun? Until then it's a guess.
No written, just a lengthy conversation with a Sailun rep. sure its a guess .But when a tire blows ,there is no mistake what happened , its loud ,and obvious. We have been over this before, and I reported about a patrolman behind a fifth wheel when a Goodyear G614 blew out, scared the daylights out of him, more then the guy that it happened to . There is no mistake or guess work when a tire blows out at 100 psi or more.
When I observed my tire with the smoke bellowing off of it ,thats when I knew I had lost the tire, It ran flat until it heated up ,and started smoking. As said to its credit being a quality steel cased tire it stayed together . Small pieces of rubber were stuck to the side of the fifth wheel, but that was about it ,no damage to trailer or wheel. We have seen what blown outs do, and taken part of the fifth wheel with them.
