towing 5th wheel with short bed Ford F250

I am pulling rig in signature, with a 13 F250 6 3/4 without a slider. Yes, my cap is designed for a short bed. My pin is 41 inches behind the cab, with good clearance.

I believe I would be good at 38"s, but have no reason to do it.

If you don't want to damage the cab of your truck and the corner of the fifth wheel and knock the back window out of your truck then you need a slider hitch or a long bed truck. Its only a matter of time and yes you will have to make a turn sharp enough to hit the back of your cab with the trailer. The slider hitch will be cheaper than the repairs.

I've got an older (2006) and I'm glad I have my slider. A lot has to do with the contour of the cap on the fiver. Many have the radius edges cut deeply to accommodate a standard hitch. My CC fiver doesn't have that deep of a cut.
