Truck? Sounds like you blew the charge fuse on your truck.

I checked the power at the junction box of the rv and do get 12 to 13 volts.

Don is likely correct, but you can use a tester on the truck to see if the charge line has power. If it does, then you may have a connection problem on the FW wiring that you replaced.

Also check with the TV running. You probably have a relay that isolates the truck's battery when not running. Sorry if this is to obvious, but sometimes those little things will bite you!

I do.
I get power on both boxes the hitch one and the truck bed one.
Do you know if my battery in the rv is charged if I can get power to the junction box to find the correct wire?

It should feed both ways, unless you blew a circuit breaker on the FW, does the landing gear operate without shore power?

There is not that many connections in the junction box, should be a heavier wire, but I'd recheck all connections, especially the ground.

Good morning to all. Being new to 5th wheel ownership I have to ask this question concerning this topic. Do I understand that the truck charging system will charge the battery on the 5th wheel while in tow? All my reading on our new Outback 296frs did not say anything about this and I must admit I`ve never herd of this before. NEW 5TH WHEEL OWNER STILL LERNING!!!

Yes is does. You can check your battery state of charge, not plugged in to shore power. Now plug into truck, start engine, recheck battery with engine running.

It will if the wiring is correct (see the OP's original post) and if you have +12VDC present at pin #4 of the Pollak 7 pin receptacle at the rear of your truck. Pin #4 is always hot on my Ram since it doesn't have a battery isolator; on a Ford, pin #4 should be hot with the engine running (or the ignition on) but not with the ignition off since it has a battery isolation relay.

If pin #4 isn't hot, then either the fuse and/or relay have not been installed in the truck's power distribution center (they often don't come from the factory with these installed - they may be in a bag in the glove box or console), or the truck's fuse in the battery feed line is blown.

There is an additional fuse in my system on the trailer side.

30Amp glass Buss fuse on the charge line (Black) just after it enters the basement from the pin box area. Not sure why and not sure if other trailer brands are wired this way.
