It is a big deal. I'm waiting for a manufacturer to be sued cause someone in a trailer advertised at 12,000 pounds gvw was really 14,000 and caused an accident cause the truck was rated at 12,500. I'm far from the weight police on this site. But when I buy something, I expect the specs to be right.
You must also have missed the part where I said the weight posted should be close...
No I read your whole post. What is "close"? Some would say 12,000 list when it's 13,000 is close. Which is enough to put someone over the limit. Especially when considering trailer tires and GVW. How hard is it to require them to be weighed at the dealer after installed options?
