Well the guys at Lippert will not be going down the road with you. If I were you I would just purchase another. I'm surprised they haven't already tried to sell you one.

A. Either Goodyear or Firestone makes the air springs and are standard air springs found in most of their industrial catalogs. Either Monroe or Sachs Automotive Co makes the shock absorbers for Trailair. Both companies use standard shock components but both have special internal valving suited specifically for the needs of Trailair. Suitable replacements may be obtained through authorized Trailair dealers or directly from Trailair.

That bag looks like a Michelin tire. I don't think Lippert give good service for problem as you are having. I helped installed a trailair pin box and the bag would not hold up when the weight was pushing on it. A bigger bag was sent and the owner installed the new bag with out a problem so it seems to be an easy job, if you will be the installer. I would want a new bag also. I also feel it would still work just looks bad. Keep us posted.

We have a truck supply shop nearby who sells Firestone airsprings, I sent him the picture you all (including Lippert's tech guy's who told me it was fine and not to sweat it) have seen and they promptly asked if it's still holding air and that it's toast from uv exposure and about to fail! So they told me to remove it and bring it in so we can get an exact replacement at by the way will be about $180 cheaper than Lippert. I have both the Trailair and Centerpoint suspension on my fiver and I wouldn't be with out them, I believe the smooth ride they provide extends the life of my fiver and it's contents as time goes by but I really gotta' wonder about taking their advise, had this airspring bought it say on the way down to Florida I would be sitting on the side of the highway waiting for Good Sam to come and haul my fat Irish butt to an rv shop that would surly charge me more than $150+ Can. Also I was told that by covering these airsprings they will last a lot longer so right after I replace it i'm gonna' get Frau Blücher on the sewing machine busy wippin' me up a nice little cover!

A few years ago I had to take my bag off and reinstall a new center bolt because SOMEHOW the original one disappeared - which I still haven't figured out how - anyway, it was pretty easy. The folks at TRAILAIR (when it was TRAILAIR) we very helpful in assisting me find the correct size and a Fastenal dealer in my area. It was no charge. I have a few extras now - just in case.

I also keep my airbag covered.

If the air bag failed you would then have a regular hitch box set up and it would not cause you to sit on the side of the highway. It just wouldn't have any bounce to it.

Will NOT leave you sitting on the side of the road waiting for a tow. Just keep driving it. You simply will not have the cushion of the bag.

NOT QUITE!!The airspring had gone flat while sitting last summer and when I hooked up and started down the road that Trailair pinbox was banging up and down at every bump, I thought the fiver was going to punch the hitch through the floor of my pick up bed. After getting out the compressor and adding a hundred pounds all was well again, this season I lost about 50% of the air while sitting. if that bag had failed on say any of Michigan's highways it would have stopped me!
