The clunking is caused by too much slop between the hitch pin and the hitch jaws. Depending on your brand of hitch there should be some adjustment to take the slack out. On my hitch there is a 1/2 inch bolt on the truck cab side of the head that i can adjust to remove the slack. Just be careful not to make it too tight.

The Tri-Glide portion is just a different jaw. I can be added to a std Trail-Aire hitch. I have a Tri-Glide it works okay. I'm not sure it's worth the extra investment. They aren't cheap. I would look at your hitch and make sure all is well there first. Trail-Aire is owned by Lippert. You should be able to order the Tri-Glide portion from any dealer that sells the hitch. Prices will vary greatly from one source to another. You might try Lippert direct.

Do you have air pressure set so you can see top of arrows? I found that for me I get a better ride if I keep the pressure set so the trailer floats from bottom of arrow head to about 1/2 inch below on normal highway driving. Randu

I ordered the triglide through a local rv repair shop directly from lippert. You remove the nut at the top of the airbag (by the fill valve), then remove the bottom of the shock. The lower jaw swings down, and you remove the pivot at the rear. Reinstall the same way.

I think you need to look at what else might be causing the chucking.

I do about the same. Rides rough if I raise it to the top of the arrowhead..But then who knows if the decal placement is very consistent.

I set mine 1/8" above tip of arrows and it FLOATS back there!

I will try different air pressures but the problem is not the up and down movement. The 5th is jerking back and forth on the rough roads. No slop or banging in the hitch that I can determine. I've got a number to call the TrailAir service center and will call them also.
