Trailer caddies

I have a tight drive way. Any ideas as to what kind of trailer caddy to get? These are my parameters; 3 degree slope, concrete, 15,000 gross weight. Where do you find a used one?
  • By tight do you mean narrow? If so remember that you won't be able to see around the RV while moving it.
If you mean tight swing room a google earth pic would help us help you.

Caddy for 15K FW? I'm thinking modified fork lift, or bobcat?

    Explored all the same
Bobcat in decent condition = very expensive & may need accessories.

Fork lift - there are ready-made modifications available. Many/most dealers -and many repair facilities- use fork lifts to move 5th wheels. Ask around. Expect to pay about $2K or more.

Downside = *if* you need repairs that aren't DIY, you may need to transport an inoperative fork lift to a repair facility. Could be expensive! Also, used (cheap?) fork lifts may have seen better days.

Answer = Parkit 360. Mfg in Canada - Very impressive, but pricey!
    Caveat/s from Parkit:

Do not exceed dolly's rated capacity.
Do not operate on more than a 4% grade.

The reps can (usually) be found at larger RV shows.

    Good luck with your dilemma!

  • It's $4,000. And I am sure you would need some sort of extension and adapter to go from the stock ball mount to a FW hitch mount (unless your FW is a gooseneck) That is a tremendous amount of money to assist in parking a FW. I could park my FW at my current storage location for 7 years at that cost. But I guess any problem can be solved if you throw enough money at it.

Several options. But not cheap. Never used one. Pretty neat though.

Interesting but I would not use this device on anything but a flat paved surface. Even then it doesn't seem adequate if something isn't as planned as 14K for that small device seems questionable to me.
