Travel Supreme 1996 40RLTSO pin weight?

My stepson has asked me to move a 1996 Travel Surpreme 40RLTSO triple axle trailer he purchase in Oregon 120 miles north to a lot he has on the Columbia River. It is all flat traveling and the trailer is empty.

I can handle up to about 3500 pin weight.

I hate to tell you this, however I have a 2000 much like your 1996. Here is a link to my sticker for my trailer. My hitch weigh is about 4600# I tow with an International 4400. These trailer are built heavy.

Do you know you dry pin weight? This does not have washer or dryer, it does however have a generator. Other than that it is bare. But sounds like we need to hire some to move it.

I can not view your picture for some reason. I will try sending you a PM with an email address. Chris

That Travel Supreme weighs more 'dry' then your Cardinal does fully loaded.

It has a dry weight of 14,500# so that would roughly be 2900# dry pin weight.

Curb weight on your truck is around 3840# rear axle....RAWR is 6084# leaving 2244# minus hitch....2000#
Truck is only rated to tow 11,650# (properly equipped and using mfg. magical max tow rating system)
And it only has a GVWR of 8800#

You will be over gross, you will be over rear axle/rear tires, over tow capacity......

    But it's flat........

3/4 ton towing that kind of weight, pin weight alone he is overweight, It would be iffy with a SRW 1 ton.

    But it's flat
  • Truck weighs around 7100-7200 ready to tow. Front axle is in the 4200-4400 range. So rear axle is less than 3K. It has the factory optional LT265's rated to 3415 each. That is why I said I would be good for a short flat haul like this up to around 3500 pin weight. It has the Camper option with rear overload springs similar to the 1T dually. Wind would not be my friend as it is a shorter Std Cab truck. Power is not a problem. Fresh custom tranny and triple disc TC.

The pictures I have found show the three axles set quite a ways back.

Just do not want to drive all the way over there and then not be able to move it.

Worst case it is 15K as sits and 25 percent pin weight and I am at 3750 pin weight.
