- TRAILRIDER125ExplorerOne thing to consider while travelling with your pets, either in a truck, car or RV. If you are in an accident, do not expect your pet to stay put. He will likely run off in the confusion. You might be hurt and not able to get to him and he could be gone in an instant. I know, I know...I've done it myself. I've let my dog ride in the vehicle with me too. But really animals are safer confined to a crate while traveling. Just my opinion. I read once about a plane crash in South American where the only survivor was a dog in a Vari Kennel. So they are pretty well made!

Yikes! Mine booted on the bed, once, but now she's just fine. The closet is behind two large sliding mirrors which are braced to allow her out to poop in her box.
We started putting him in the camper, and he found he really liked crawling under the pillows on the bed .... until a couple trips ago, when we found vomit all over the bed, and cat poo! Back to the drawing board. - DutchmenSportExplorerAll of our pets ride in the tow vehicle.... until this year!
We have a cat, and the cat get car sick ... I mean vomiting, pooping, and basically very, very upset, and makes a horrid mess.
And yes, we tried pet carriers....
If YOU want to clean up cat vomit and cat poo from cat fur, and from the inside of a pet carrier, YOU be my guest. Not to mention the horrid smell, and when on the road, this is just awful! No more carriers, it doesn't work for the cat.

Next couple outings we just left the cat at home.
Then (I) came up with the idea of putting him in the shower with his litter pan. The shower has glass doors and locks for travel.
Problem solved! No vomit, no poo, cat seems happy, and if he does have to go, he's got his litter pan right there!
(Well it worked on 1 one week-end run anyway).... Time will tell.
Never had a pet get motion sickness like this cat does. - rhagfoExplorer III

No, I wouldn't even consider it, but that's just me. Before putting them back there, you might want to ride in the 5th wheel yourself while it's in motion to see just what they would experience. It's not very pleasant.

Did it once when TV was regular cab. We figured out how to lap them after that they were a bit freaked out. The Quad cab came shortly after, they own the back seat. - Tal_ILExplorerI see nothing wrong with transporting a dog in the 5th wheel. I would not let the dog roam free inside the 5th wheel, but would place the animal in a crate with proper bedding.
- 2oldmanExplorer IICat sleeps all day in the 5er closet. No problem.
- IdaDExplorerMy dog rides in a kennel strapped down in the bed of the truck. Doesn't seem to bother her at all, and if it's cold or wet I've got a kennel cover so she stays warm and dry. I doubt riding in the trailer would bug her except it would be too hot during the summer.
I think a lot depends on the dog too. The little nervous type would probably struggle more than the sturdier breeds I've generally owned. - Crazy_RayExplorerWould you travel with WIFE in trailer???? NO

- fla-gypsyExplorerThe dog may decide they really don't like camping.
