Two water heater switches?

The switch on the check panel is for propane operation. The stand alone switch on the right is for electric operation. My MH has the exact same set-up.

has the designs changed or anything with water heaters that would keep me from running both 110 and LP at the same time? Seems like I either read in the manual or they told me through the walk through not to run both at the same time. That manual clearly states that you can. I'm going to have to re-read mine and see what it says. I've always thought that didn't make sense because the thermostat should keep it from overheating when running both by shutting off both heat sources.

However you decide which system elec and or propane --- Don't do what I did and forget to be sure there is water in the tank to start with. The electric element will blow INSTANTLY if you throw juice to it w/o water. Just like at home.

Wow, nothing in the photo indicates to me what they are trying to show. Chinese manufacturer?

The test switch is to check the levels in the various tanks.

The water heater switch on the right is for the electric and the one labeled heater on the left is for LP. You can use them at the same time if you desire. The very small light to the left of the LP water heater switch is the fail light. If the water heater tries unsuccessfully to light three times on LP, the light will be illuminated. You can turn the LP water heater switch off and back on and the water heater will try and light on LP three more times.

The rocker switch on the left is to run the water heater on propane. The light switch on the right will run it on electric. You can run both at the same time for much faster reheat time.

As mentioned by a previous poster, there is also a small switch on the front of the water heater.

The photo is exactly like my Heartland Elkridge 5th wheel. The switch on the right is for 120V electric power to the water heater and the "heater" switch next to the pump switch is for propane power to the water heater. "Me Again" is also correct regarding the rocker switch in the lower left corner of the water heater behind the cover. It also powers the 120V electric to the water heater. If it is in the "off" position, the inside 120V switch will not turn on the electric to the water heater.
