What kind of bikes? For dirtbikes, I simply ran etrack down the sides via bolting it to the floor and I put the bikes in transverse. For the first ones on each side, I put in Pingel removable chocks just to make 100% sure the front wheels don't turn.
I didn't have to get underneath at all.
All three bikes are Sportbikes('07 GSXR600, '04 GSXR600 & '08 CBR600RR). It looks like the Beast Rack is going to be the way to go because it just uses the existing D bolts in the floor and it will save me roughly $400.
If you talk to Richard at Beastracks, tell him I sent you. You will at least have to measure the wall to wall clearance and the spacing between the floor anchors. I suggest that YOU determine the spacing YOU want for the J hooks, the legs, the tie-down clips and the wheel chocks based on the bike to bike clearance you want. Otherwise, you get what he thinks will work. I was the first to put one in a '13 F150. With the benefit of the drawing I gave him, it fit very well in the truck. I'm working now to put it into a 6x14 trailer to haul 4 dirt bikes to Colorado. I had to add some holes in the crossbar to adapt the spacing from the truck to the trailer.
