When you're connected at the campground, the water goes directly into your lines and bypasses the pump and the fresh water tank. You must fill your fresh water tank through a connection as pictured but, once it's filled, the water level in the tank will not be affected by the campground water. While at the campground, just disconnect the hose from the city water connection, connect it to the fresh water connection, and add as much as you need for the road.
