In my very limited experience, the floor stays cold/cool no mater how hot it is outside and in the cold it stays cold! So in the summer that is a plus but in the early spring/fall its going to be a MUST to put something down on the floor. The good thing is that the heater in mine is awesome. No problems keeping the trailer warm in the upper 30's
