I took my 7x20 to Sturgis SD and back from Mass. It was about 4k miles behind my BMW X5 shown in page 12. I really loved the unit and it handled the trip in great fashion. The only issue I had was with the refrigerator. The thing didn't want to cool down. I used a bag of ice on the fridge cooling blades to draw the stalled coolant out of the compressor per a tip from a neighbor at the campground. It seemed to work but it took a day or two of running to finally get to proper temp. From then on it held it even on the trip home using lp. Any tips on keeping the Dometic Fridge happy would be welcome. Feel free to post some links to pages on that. Thanks!
I run mine on LP the night before leaving and on the way to my camp. It is slow to cool, but usally pretty cold after about 48 hours or running.
Post up some pics from Strugis!!!!
I plug my VRV in 3 days before a trip and let the frig cool down using AC. Then I switch to LP for the trip and all seems fine. I need to get a temp gauge to see what the temp really is inside the frig because it doesn't feel all that cold but the freezer top section keeps food frozen so I know its working
I would do that except I can't turn on the frige while it's parked in my driveway due to the slope. I pull it out into the street on more level ground where there is not AC power.
Yes, in my experience the fridge will not run on a slope on AC or Gas.
