Washer/dryer or washer and dryer combo ?

Whirlpool side by side, washer is high efficiency and the dryer is "240V" ! If use of power or time to dry is a concern get the 240V dryer! Wife and I are extremely impressed with how clean the clothes come out.

Be sure to get a 240V Gen if being able to dry your clothes while hooked to 30A or boon docking is important.

We have a Kenmore stacked unit. The dryer is vented. Because it's 110 the dryer takes a while but so what. Both can handle a fair sized load. One of the complaints I've heard about the all in ones is the load capacity and drying time. DW would give up RVing rather than give up her washer/dryer.

We would like to thank all of you for your input. It is very helpful . For you full-timer's out there we bought a new front loader for our house and it takes an hour and a half to wash. They say it is high efficient. REALLY ! But it is very efficient when it comes to water usage. Thanks Again ,

We have the Spledide TVM63X dryer and ARWXF129W washer in our new Montana. They work very well and the dryer is almost as fast as the one at home but it does not hold as much. It is vented. DW loves them.

We prefer the Splendide 2100 combo system because of the weight and size savings. But you must go with the vented model to get even half decent performance....

Same here. We like the stackers better.

We had a condensing (ventless) Splendide installed way back in 2000 in our new Jayco Designer XL 3610RLTS. A total waste of almost $1K, as far as we're concerned. We didn't even bother to transfer it to our 2004 Mobile Suites 36RE3. It took forever to "dry" clothes, and even then the clothes came out damp and wrinkled.

The current 5th wheel is set up for a stackable washer/dryer, and that's what will go in it when I retire and we get to travel for extended periods of time.

I wouldn't go far as to say ventless models are junk. There are applications where that is the only option and having a washer/dryer in an RV is mandatory for me as a full timer. The ventless models do work, they just use a lot more water per load vs a vented model.

I have a 2100XC and wouldn't be without it. I use it as a colored clothes hamper and when it is full enough to run I run it. If it is every day so be it. I don't care how long it takes to wash/dry. I just don't try to do all laundry at one time as in a s&b.

x2 had both no contest - we actually use them now that we have the stacked units -

We have a vented Splendide 2100XC that we have used for our entire time as fulltimers. The combo unit does have a learning curve. I wouldn't want to be without it but I understand and accept the limitations. It is NOT like using a sticks and bricks washer and dryer.

For one thing it takes twice as long because you can't wash one load in the washer while you are drying another load in the dryer because you only have one machine. Add to that, the drying time is twice as long and the loads can only be half the size. What is a weekly chore in a sticks and bricks home is a daily chore in the motorhome. I try to throw in one load every other day or so.

If I had the room, I would prefer a separate washer and dryer vs the combo but I don't have the room so I have adapted and learned how to make the combo work for us.
