We have the Splendide stackables and would not be without them. We have run ours on the water pump, the generator, 30 amp, and without sewer hookups. They take the HE detergent and are really water efficient. If you expect the dryer to work like a residential dryer you will be disappointed because it is 110 vice 220. We never leave the washer on when we are out of the RV but we will use the dryer when we are away. This way, we can do laundry when we want to usually first thing in the morning or in the evening when we are relaxing. I find laundry mats to be dirty (generally), expensive, and you never know what was in the machines. We have a closet just for the units. The dryer is vented and we even have an access door on the outside so we can get to the back of the units without pulling them out. We had a catch pan put under ours with a hose out the bottom of the RV in case of a leak. The dryer is really convenient for warming up towels before taking a shower!
