Water in basement...
On our last trip (Port Aransas, TX last week) we noticed the Carpet in the basement was wet when loading up. Immediate thought was leak in the bathroom sink as the wet area was directly under the sink plumbing. This weekend, at home, we took everything out of the basement and tried to identify the problem by running all the plumbing. No leak was spotted. There are only 2 things that were different this trip than any other...1) we added a water filter and 2) we used the outdoor shower. When checking the plumbing, we did not check it with the water filter installed. I know our filter was hard to get tight enough to prevent leaks and wondering if it could have spewed up the hose, ran down another hose and dripped in the basement without us noticing as we did not enter that side of the basement after setup until we left. The other thing that may have been possible (I guess) is when we first attempted to run the outdoor shower, there was no water coming out because the hose was kinked inside. When resolving that issue, the shower worked fine but wondering if it could have somehow leaked through a fitting due to pressure of kinked hose and got the basement wet. We spent hours yesterday thoroughly checking all plumbing and cannot find anything leaking. We checked plumbing both using city water and with the pump...nothing...no drips and no moisture on the lines. This has me pretty puzzled because if there is a leak, I want to fix it soon so it doesn't cause damage but we can't find anything. Anyone ever experience something like this? Have any suggestions for us to check?
