Congrats on the new to you hauler. Maxxis is definitely your best choice if your staying with ST tires. I run them on my 3018 Raptor. As for the grunting and groaning it sounds like the hitch is a combo weight distribution with built in anti-sway. The noise is probably normal. I run the Reese dual cam set-up which is also noisy around turns.
