If you hit "back", edit and then post it is actually a repost as the site has no idea you did the first post. Most websites are stateless and have no idea what you are doing from page to page. They could add "tokens" to more carefully watch what you do, and the token would basically say - "Hey, that's not allowed".
Be careful hitting the "back" button on any site where you are actually making changes, especially online stores.
Best just to edit your original post via the edit button.
