weight creep.....

So.... pulled out the CAT scale historical data.. the review
indicates, like many here, we are putting on the pounds...

caveat: added low profile AC, took out dinette and chairs, replaced with futon, removed hide-a-bed sofa, added wall mount and flat screen to bedroom. carry fishing tackle ("just in case"), carry Craftsman compressor. Try to be selective about what we "can't get by without" but is the never ending struggle.

I thought we had done better then the numbers indicate.

Shared with bride.... not impressed.

how is your record ? I'm betting these numbers are in the "typical" ballpark.

forgot to mention... some of this is due to my belly. :o

Truck + 5th Wheel

July 2012 18700 lbs. - (Arrival dry weight)
Mar 2013 19880 lbs.
Jan 2016 19900 lbs.

  • Thats the beauty of a highway tractor - "honey can I bring this'?
with out looking up I can say "sure if it fits bring it"\
My pin weight has gone from a brochure weight of 2800# to over 4000 now.
  • Put two of these into the belly of the 5'er (FW tank?) each day to take care of your weight problem. If you drink out of your FW tank, it may do some good for you too! :)

Looking at the label's claim of increasing energy, maybe you'll get better gas mileage, longer battery and propane life too!
  • Cool Mom....

what !?!?! trim down the fishing gear ? oh the humanity! :B

funny thing is, these numbers reflect the never-ending cull. Will just have to do better...
try to stay under 1000 lbs. above dry wt. ...
    yep, that is the goal!

    the belly.... altogether different goal.:R

  • I have the same problem with weight creep, especially with the belly! Just haven`t found the right tool from harbor freight to adjust it??:-)
  • That's 20 lb in 2 yrs + 10 months. I wouldn't be concerned about this one incrment. But not something you can repeat forever.

How about replacing the compressor with a lighter one? And trimming down the amount of fishing gear?

Probably also some of that is bedding, extra clothes, towels, toiletries, cooking tools, food you have stored, etc. That stuff adds up!
