I give up.
My rig is not the issue, but the one spec sheet given showed a 5,000 lb max towing with a 3,000 lb payload, causing me to question most documentation given here. I mean that is nuts.
And some of you insist on using the archaic 1/2 ton designation while speaking of 1600 to 2300 lb payloads. Please do the math and tell us the weight of a US 1/2 ton.
Really, you guys win.
No, to make you happy presenting your case while we were talking about the OP's truck, an 11' Dodge, I believe..originally.. Though, you are right, we weren't talking about your truck, but YOU made it the issue without validation, BUT, You can be the winner, I mean, it's your truck, your towing, your 5er....you state you can tow over 11,000 easily.....so...you win...you're far more knowledgeable than any of us and your reading comprehension is far superior. So, you win and maybe we'll just all move on.. Most know in here that the 1500HD was really more like an older 2500, BUT, not like the, newer 2500, at that time..I had an 01 2500HD, one with D/A and one with 8.1/A and both had a GVW of 9200#, so that 2500 had more payload and more GCWR than the 1500HD and the 1500HD had more of the above than a standard 1500.
Congrats....:)
