Had a blowout on my trailer going to the dunes this weekend and damaged my fender a little.
Fixed the next day!!!!!
Didn't think I would ever see this. Michelin XPS Ribs. Tires were 4 1/2 years old. Always checked tire pressure before going. Park under covered parking and park on wood.
I am running the same tires and after 1 year the sidewalls are cracking. Discount tire had an(index)or chart to compare what they consider "excessive" but mine are apparently within spec....You lucked out with the damage that you got from that blow out. Good job on the repair. - lincsterExplorer

Lincster, how did you fix that fender flare? the first photo it looks cracked.
Exactly what it did.
It didn't break all the way through, just cracked.
I didn't loose any large pieces, so we used fiberglass resin and just kind of worked it under the pieces and filled the cracks.
Let that dry and then sanded it down.
Then put bondo over the top of that.
Once that hardened, sanded that down to match the other surface heights and to remove all of the swirl marks.
Then painted over with some rattle can and put on new sealant.
I am way happy with the way it came out.
$50 and 3 hours later.....
Wish mine were fiberglass so I could fix them that easy, they're injection molded plastic, tore a piece off one and cannot find a replacement for under 200.00 so I swapped them from side to side so I don't have to look at it while I'm camping.
I was happy when I realized mine was fiberglass. Easy to repair. - naytherExplorer

- BedlamModeratorI had replaced the tires within the last three months when one failed. Les Schwab tire warranty also covered vehicle damage for the first year. They have always had great customer service and there is only one time I have not bought from them in the last 25 years due to the extra price.

You were fortunate with your damage. My Weekend Warrior skirt shattered when my tire failed. Luckily it was covered by Les Schwab since they provided the tires.
Could you go into more detail about being covered by Les Schwab?
Thanks, KEN
