- 1L243Explorer III have to add to my post above Black Tank Rinse. The Tornado kit comes with a one way anti siphon valve. I was going to use the anti siphon on the end of the water hose when flusing the black tank.
But then I decided if I have black tank fluid coming back into the plumbing I want to prevent it as soon as possible. So, I added the valve right at the tank. This pushed me out about 1 1/2 inches so I had to add to the PVC.
It's the black part between the brass fitting and PVC
- rsg63ExplorerChanged my twin 12v deep cycle batteries for two Trojan T-105 6v units. Was a bit of work since the battery trays were rivited in place and the new batteries are too tall to drop in. So I had to remove the rivets, put the batteries in the trays, slide the trays into the battery compartment, then bolt the trays down. But once completed it looks good and I am way better prepared for boondocking.
- Judy_DExplorerI installed plexi glass on the screen door to help with heat loss / ac loss
so now I can leave the door open and still keep the toy hauler cool or warm .
Judy D. - Mike_LAExplorerNice job with the PVC, Doug.
You're right about the kit. There's much to be desired.
I'll be installing 2 Quickie-Flush tanks rinse kits soon and will be using PVC. - 1L243Explorer III added Tornado Black Tank Flush. The action of the Tornado is good but the kit is lacking. The instructions recommend that you put the Tornado on the opposite end of the Black tank, so you are flushing towards the gate valve. The 6 foot 1/2" hose that comes with the kit is not long enough to reach the other side of the Black tank. On my trailer 8' would be minimum. I decided to use 1/2" PVC. I also got a side mount hose inlet instead of the L bracket that the kit came with.
Water Inlet $19
Plumbing from the water inlet
Run the PVC. I bought some 1/2" metal clamps to hang the pipe but nylon ties seem to work fine.
The Tornado into the Black tank. This is where I had most of the trouble. There was not enough room to get my angle drill and hole saw in there. I was able to drill the 5 1/8" holes using the template that came with the kit. Since the Black tank is just plastic I was able to use my hand turning the hole saw until it cut through the tank.
You will also have to get a pipe to garden hose adapter here to mate with the Tornado.
It doesn't leak and makes alot of racket inside the tank so I guess it works. won't know for sure till I get a chance to use it. - joebedfordNomad IIII added an ethernet patch cable from the living room TV to my RV LAN. Now I can stream movies, photos and music from my PC. Good video rendering - quality was as good as on my PC screen.
Unfortunately it appears that the TV is just one tiny model number too low to directly stream Netflix, Hulu etc. - CampersX4ExplorerI had a new awning installed and purchased 2 new batteries.
