I am putting new panneling into my 93 nomad 5th wheel, I am wondering what would be some good glue/adhesive to use to glue new paneling over the old stuff.The wall frames are aluminum or some kind of metal. and the walls have styrofoam in them, ceiling and roof have the pink insulation and are wood beams.Trailer had a ton of water damage, both floors in slideouts were rotten and you would fall through them it was so bad. I have repaired the floor, the old paneling looks horrible.I tried removing some of the paneling from the walls but it is all glued to the walls and tears up the styrofoam. so I stopped doing that after messing with one pannel.The last trailer that I replaced paneling in I used nails, and eventually more moisture got to the walls and they started to bow just a little bit here and there, I think if I glued the new paneling in, it would be more flat and attached so that it wouldn't bow so easily.I got new 5mm wood paneling that I am going to put in the trailer http://www.homedepot.com/p/t/203183010just need to figure out what a good product would be to glue it in place.

You can buy panel cement, it comes in tubes for a calk gun. Liquid nails brand will have some as well as other brands. If you are doing a lot of this buy a good calk gun not one of the cheap ones. You will save yourself a lot of aggravation and bad language....heh.Liquid Nails get it locally tho at Home Depot or Lowes.

No More Nails adhesive would work as well as it is make for panelling.

Construction adhesive "Liquid Nails" is the best solution. There are plenty of choices, Loctite makes several instant grab types that work on wood, metal, styrofoam, fiberglas tub surrounds, etc, that dry clear so you can use plenty of adhesive at the seams.

Thanks guys!

Actually this underlayment has a very smooth wood texture look to it. the stuff looks incredible... but it is easily paintable too... I will see what it looks like when I install it and if I dont like it then I will paint it white.

Most home paint stores have the higher quality caulking guns. Think Sherman Williams, etc. I just noticed your link for siding is an underlayment, what are you putting on this, paint, wall paper or something else?

IMHO Harbor Freight is not a good place to shop.

Check with Home Depot. Sorry to say it is hard to find a quality caulking gun anymore.

If you are in the Seattle area Colorado Steel Sash 6250 Ellis Ave South Seattle.

They have Quality Caulking guns.

well, finally got some free time to get this project done, what is a good caulking gun to use for the 28 oz tubes, dont look like harbor freight has one.

which works out to 5.62 FL oz per dollar.

All the other PL products that I seen on home depots site looked to be 40%+ more expensive than the liquid nails heavy duty.

but if that multi purpose PL construction adhesive is better than the liquid nails heavy duty then I will go with it, its about the same price per fl oz and it also will use a 10 oz caulk gun which I already have.

EDIT: Another bonus, I can order that PL muti adhesive, if I order two boxes of it for $45 its shipped to my door for FREE! I think I will go this route because home depot is a 45 min drive for me.

It is more expensive but it really is a superior product. Big tubes are less per oz.

Looks like the best deal is the 28oz heavy duty at either home depot or lowes.

35 years in construction industry. PL brand polyurethane const adh. Loves or HD. Holds MUCH BETTER than liquid nails.
